Witnessing the high levels of interest and commitment from so many different stakeholders have confirmed to me in believing that ‘bridging’ the two continents in innovation might be just what is needed in these times of geopolitical transformations, polycrisis, and diffuse uncertainty about the future.

We hope AEIP becomes a living collaboration space that enables stakeholders across both continents to identify opportunities, build partnerships, co-create solutions, and sustain long-term engagement.

My hope is that the platform and its surrounding digital and analogue activities will catalyse an intrinsic motivation in African and European stakeholders to foster deeper connections with their counterparts across the Mediterranean.

The greatest value will come from turning connections into structured activities, such as joint programmes, startup support, research collaborations, policy dialogues, investment linkages, and shared learning.
