Overview
The Africa-Europe Youth Academy (AEYA) has launched a Call for Proposals to support Youth Spaces across West Africa. The programme is funded by the European Union under the Global Gateway initiative and is implemented by Expertise France, in consortium with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
For West Africa, the call is implemented by GHIYADA AFRICA (Togo) in partnership with SESG Future Ready Hub (Ghana).
The initiative aims to strengthen youth organisations by supporting projects that create safe, inclusive, and empowering environments where young people can develop leadership skills, access support services, and expand their initiatives.
Objectives
The call seeks to:
- Strengthen existing Youth Spaces through grant funding.
- Improve access to safe and inclusive environments for young people.
- Support youth leadership, innovation, and civic engagement.
- Enable youth organisations to expand their impact within their communities.
Funding
The call will be implemented in two phases:
Phase 1
- 20 Youth Spaces will be selected (approximately 2–3 per eligible country).
- Grant amount: €10,000 per project.
- Project duration: 6–12 months.
Phase 2
- 4 projects will be selected from the successful Phase 1 beneficiaries.
- Grant amount: Up to €40,000 per project.
- Project duration: 6–12 months.

The call is open to youth organisations based in:
- Benin
- Côte d’Ivoire
- Ghana
- Guinea
- Mauritania
- Senegal
- Togo
Key Dates
- Information session: 25 July 2026
- Application deadline: 7 August 2026, 23:59 GMT
Applications may be submitted in French or English.
