About CIEIF

The Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund makes grants solely to support predictive environmental impact assessments (EIA), impact modeling studies, and stakeholder engagement efforts for small-scale field tests of new technologies. CIEIF believes that independent, objective EIA is vital for progress on climate interventions.

Current Grant Opportunity

CIEIF is offering three grants of USD 75,000 each.

• Next application deadline: 15 March 2026 (Fifth grant round)
• Decisions announced by: 1 May 2026

CIEIF previously announced three awards of USD 75,000 each in October 2025.

Guidelines for Applicants

Applicants should write a grant request demonstrating how they would spend USD 75,000 usefully on EIA, predictive impact modeling, and/or engagement efforts with potentially impacted stakeholders, from local communities to government agencies, for their proposed climate intervention field test. Applications that do not focus on at least one of those three elements will be quickly rejected.

Format requirements:

• Maximum 20 pages, single-spaced, 12-point font
• English only
• Biosketches and crucial science publications may be added as supplemental material
• Linking to supplemental material is preferred wherever possible
• Succinctness is valued
