Overview
The African Union (AU) Peace Fund has launched a Call for Applications for financing under its Programmatic Windows – Funding Cycle 2028.
The call invites eligible African Union institutions and entities to submit initiatives supporting African-led peace efforts, contributing to the implementation of Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want.
Funding Priorities
The AU Peace Fund supports peace-related initiatives aligned with three thematic windows:
- Mediation and Preventive Diplomacy
- Institutional Capacity
- Peace Support Operations
Proposed initiatives must comply with the Peace Fund’s approved eligibility criteria, application guidelines and funding modalities.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible beneficiaries are limited to:
- African Union Member States
- Regional Economic Communities (RECs)
- Regional Mechanisms (RMs)
- Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS) Department of the African Union Commission
Application and Selection Process
The selection process will take place in stages.
Following an initial preliminary review, eligible applicants will be invited to submit full project proposals. These proposals will then undergo technical evaluation and ranking before successful applicants are selected and notified in accordance with the AU Peace Fund’s approved Standard Operating Procedures.
