Application deadline: 6 May 2026
Format: On-site
Location: France
Start Date: 7 September 2026
Duration: 6 months

About

The L’Oréal Green Sciences Incubator, in partnership with Genopole and coordinated by Hello Tomorrow, is seeking innovative startups for a tripartite incubation programme focused on sustainable cosmetic ingredients and green sciences.

About the Programme

The L’Oréal Green Sciences Incubator develops a tripartite incubation programme between L’Oréal Research and Innovation, Genopole, and selected startups. The programme duration is six months to one year, tailored to each startup’s solution, technology maturity, and identified challenges. Further collaboration after the programme, including co-development and investment, is possible.

What L’Oréal Is Looking For

1. Ingredients from New and Resilient Feedstocks

Plant-based solutions that safeguard nature and restore ecosystems, specifically produced under conditions promoting ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, biodiversity enrichment, and resource optimisation. Target ingredients to replace with sustainable alternatives include ricinoleic acid, castor seed oil, polysaccharides, triglycerides with high melting point, lauric and myristic acid derivatives, glycerin, lecithin, and soy-based compounds.

2. Low-Carbon Technologies

Bio-circularity from agricultural, food and wood co-products or waste; carbon capture and utilisation; industrial side streams and circularity from non-valorised streams; and low-carbon transformation processes.

3. Emerging Green Sciences

Innovative fermentation processes; emerging green chemistry processes including new non-ecotoxic solvents, mechanochemistry, and electrochemistry; and hybrid technical solutions that revolutionise performance and cost.

What Startups Will Benefit From

  • Co-innovative collaboration with a shared project, team and space
  • Access to a wide range of L’Oréal experts across advanced research, development, formulation and evaluation
  • Privileged access to Genopole’s resources, including technological platforms GATEX and Protopia, preferential access to 21 additional platforms (mass spectrometry, imaging, cytometry), and fully equipped BSL-1 and BSL-2 biotech laboratories
  • Upscale Bio expert support from Genopole, fully tailored to the startup’s needs, covering fundraising, communication strategy, market access and technology development

Who Should Apply?

This opportunity is for startups that are currently developing an innovative solution for cosmetics application, or looking to transpose a solution in development to the cosmetics industry, and seeking lab facilities, business support or technological platforms to advance their solution.
