Overview

Applications are open for Cohort 9 of the Women in Tech Accelerator Kenya, an initiative supporting women entrepreneurs to strengthen their businesses and achieve sustainable growth.

The programme is funded by the Standard Chartered Foundation and implemented by Village Capital and the @iBizAfrica Incubation Centre at Strathmore University.

Participants receive structured business training, mentorship, networking opportunities and potential access to equity-free grant funding.

Who Can Apply?

The principal founder must be:

  • A woman aged 18–35
  • A Kenyan national or permanent resident

The startup must also:

  • Be headquartered and operating in Kenya
  • Be a legally registered, for-profit business
  • Have 1–10 employees
  • Hold a valid Tax Compliance Certificate
  • Be revenue-generating, with annual revenue between KES 500,000 and KES 1,000,000
  • Have at least one woman founder and one full-time founder based in Nairobi, Kenya
  • Be technology-based or technology-enabled
  • Have an inclusive business model addressing a social, economic or environmental challenge aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Participation Requirements

Successful applicants must complete the Women in Tech Incubation Program, including the required in-person and/or virtual sessions.
