Description

The call seeks projects that will strengthen EU-wide collaboration on data-driven innovation for electricity grids, particularly to enable high penetration of renewable energy sources. The expected results include: better knowledge-sharing and coordination on planning tools and analytics; development of open-source software and repositories; improved cooperation among grid operators, researchers, academia, and industry actors; support to keep research outputs FAIR beyond project completion; and wider adoption of open-source standards across the energy sector.

Projects should: build and organize a community of practice across the energy value chain; create a European ecosystem of innovation hubs where stakeholders can co-develop digitalisation projects; demonstrate practical collaboration between grid operators and research institutions; deliver blueprints, methodologies, data tools and software that improve forecasting, simulations, asset management and system-wide decision-making; and promote use of AI and digital twins. All selected projects must engage with the EU BRIDGE initiative.
